Louise's ancestry is Irish, through the Donley/Donnelly family of St Johnsbury and Wheelock, Vermont, USA. Marriage date to Meredith is listed as 4th, 15th, or 18th of November.
Notes from family:
Though Meredith was from Maine and Louise from Vermont, they were both living in the Boston, Massachusetts area, when they met. Meredith (Jerry) was working with Dick Seddon and Harold Miller (of Miller & Seddon in Cambridge). Miller dropped out, or Dick bought him out, later, and he was then Meredith's boss.
Louise was teaching quantity cooking at Boston Girls Trade School and living in Malden, Massachusetts with her mother, Henrietta.
Louise and Meredith probably met on a blind date with Dick and his girl friend. They went out together after that as well.
Louise continued to teach for a while after they got married, and also took in borders. There was most often a full table at supper times. When Louise got pregnant with Meredith Brook she stopped teaching, but they continued with the borders (that was at 27 Cedar Street, Malden). Even after the family moved to 46 Gould Avenue, Malden, some borders came with them and were roomers as well. One was Ruth Handspicker (Meredith's sister) and another was a man named Patrick OMahoney who worked as an oil truck driver for Socony Oil (now Mobil, now Mobil-Exxon).
