Arnold Victor Handspiker, age 69, Mount Pleasant, Digby County, died Friday, at home. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Ainsley and Dora Handspiker. He was a retired fish cutter. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He is survived by his mother, Dora Handspiker, Digby; seven sons: Victor, Weymouth Mills; Peter, Victoria BC; Scott, Halifax; LeRoy, Edmonta Alta; Gary and Bruce, both of Digby; Gregory, Seabrook; six daughters: Joan (Mrs. Herbert Dugas), Digby; Delores (Mrs. Camille Robicheaud), Belliveau Cove; Mrs. Christina Rice, of Seabrook; Mrs. Sheila Baker, Clementsport; Mrs. Donna Beeler, Dartmouth; Mrs. Sandra DeLong, Vancouver, BC; one brother, Garnet, of Digby; one sister, Audrey (Mrs. Cecil VanTassell), of Digby; 38 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mildred Thibault; one brother, Osbourne; one daughter and five grandchildren. Body rested at Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral service was held from Grace United Church, Digby. Rev. Kenn Lowe officiated with interment at Fairview Cemetery, Digby. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart Foundation. A legion service was held at the funeral home.
