[219] In 1890, Fletcher appears as Fletcher Hanspiker (lost the "d"), in Lynn, Massachusetts, USA, in the 1890 Directory of Lynn. It shows his occupation as "driver" and that he was a boarder at 14 Stewart Street in Lynn. It also shows that Mrs. Caroline Hanspiker resided there. More than likely, Caroline, his mother. He may have been the father of Lillian, rather than his father, as currently listed. Or, could also be he had ANOTHER Lillian as a daughter in 1903. With that in mind, the listing of a "Meeda" Hanspiker as dying in Georgia, County of Wilkes, 21-Mar-1935, indicates that this Meeda may have been his wife, and possibly mother of a Lillian? The Georgia Connection, however, has proven to be an African-American family, so that is probably unlikely. See "Ike Handspiker" and notes on his family group.

[335] Have seen this woman listed as Emilie-Marie and Mildred Mae Thibault. My suspicions are twofold. First, that there may have been two wives, and second, that the "Mildred Mae" is merely some odd "anglicizing" of Emilie-Marie. That is my current thinking (April 2002). Was known to family as "Aunt Millie" and often went by "Millie May". This is not to say that she never WAS Emilie-Marie. This may have been a christening name. It is said, however, that the girls in the family all had middle names of Mary, May or Grace. If such was the case, "Emilie" is easily turned into "Millie". Just a thought.
