There are two schools of thought, regarding this William. First says he is Conrad Jr.'s brother, second, as his son. Records go either way. My own suspicions are that William (1st) was born in 1758, and was Conrad's brother. William (2nd) was born in 1770-1775, and was Conrad's son, as listed, William (3rd), son of William (1st) and finally, William S. (4th) son of William (2nd) Since this OBVIOUSLY lends itself to confusing the average researcher, until proven otherwise, I'm listing the William who married Leah VanTassel as the son of Conrad, Sr (2nd).
Be it known for certain, the William Handspiker born 1757 died in 1857 and is buried at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Whether this makes that William son of Conrad Sr. or son of Conrad's father, is yet to be truly known.
NOTE: It appears what WAS the "Mount Pleasant Cemetery" is now the Forest Hill/Trinity Cemetery, in Digby.
