[1359] Though no sure record, as of 2002, suspect James to be UEL or son of UEL. Spelling of the name before 1800, included Esaton and Esten.

[438] Francis and "Lucy" apparently had a total of four children. To date (Sep-2002) I've only received information on Earle. Francis usually went by Francis Lent, Jr. Though, if my information is correct, he did so more for clarity than legal reasons. If his father proves to also be Francis Abraham, then that would make more sense.
[1577] Note from Craig Sale: The SLOOT family originated in Holland. They eventually settled in what is now New York. It is suspected that Benjamin SLOOT is a descendant of Jan Jansen SLOT, son of Jan Pieterson SLOT, who came to New Amsterdam in 1650. This line of the family moved up the east side of the Hudson River to Dutchess County. The church records from that area are slim. Peter SLOT, second son of Jan Pieterson SLOT moved up the west side of the Hudson and sided with the revolutionaries. Those in Dutchess County fought on the side of the British and had to leave the colonies at the end of the war in 1783.
