Seen as Frederick Joseph Alfred, and as James Frederick, and once as John Fred (close to father's name - - possibly because he was often called "Fred" Junior) depending on source. Can be most confusing, even to family researchers of the Amero (and variants) line.
Fred's obituary appeared in the 6-Dec-1973 Digby Courier.
Also, it is likely, though more substantial evidence is still required to prove... that he was married, prior to Mary, to a Bessie Bunker, d/o Oliver Bunker, who died 03-Sep-1943. In Fred's obit, it lists three children as being from his "first marriage" as follows:
Helen - marr. Chester Melanson
Myrtle - marr. Henry Comeau
Herbert - no further info.

Jacob Holder arrived with Loyalist settlers in 1783, given a grant of land (P566) in Parish of Westfield. He came to New Brunswick as a single man on board the "Grace", part of July fleet, after being held prisoner of war following the defeat of Cornwallis at Yorktown. Moved to Hazen Holder farm upon marriage to Mary Sharpe, whose father Samuel, owned the property. He is believed to be buried on the property, in the pasture between the barn and the river. Others, including his widow, are there also.
Like most loyalists, Jacob's property in Pennsylvania was confiscated and he received no compensation.
Date of will is 24-Sep-1827
Possible connection: A Hans Jacob Holder, aged 12, arrived in Philadelphia aboard the ship "Two Sisters" on 9-Sep-1738, Capt. James Marshall, from Rotterdam by way of Cowes. Likely German origin.
Ancestry of Jacob from Robert Moore (St Thomas, ON), who also lists Jacob's place of birth as Lynn Twp, Lehigh, PA. He lists the children of Jacob and Mary as follows:
