Barbara I. Chandler
SALEM, N.H. -- Barbara I. (Handspiker) Chandler, 55, of Salem, died Friday at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen after a battle with cancer.
Mrs. Chandler was a homemaker. She also worked at Salem Haven Nursing Home and Mariner Health Care in Methuen. She belonged to Emmanuel Church of Christ in Portsmouth. She enjoyed knitting and travel.
She was born in Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada, where she attended school. She moved to Virginia and later to Salem where she lived for the past eight years.
She leaves husband Lawrence Chandler and daughter Sherry Chandler both of Salem, mother Dorothy, brothers Beverly, Darrell, and Curtis Handspiker, and sisters Marilyn Poirer and Virginia Lewis, all of Canada.
Funeral services will be tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St.
Burial will take place Friday in Digby.
Friends may call tomorrow from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

[728] B.D.'s for George and Clarence found in 1901 Culloden Census, under William Stark household. There was also listed, another grandchild names Viola E. Allan (not sure if Mary Stark married after Middleton to a Mr. Allan?). Viola is listed as born 10-Apr-1898, so only age 3 in 1901.
