[1105] "Darius family lived a short distance from Burtts Corner. Darius was named for Darius Burt, one of his mother's brothers. Throughout his life he appears to have been a "general labourer". In the 1850's he lived, with his family, about one kilometer north of present-day Burtts Corner, New Brunswick, but most his life he lived in St. Mary's Ferry, in his time a town across the Saint John River from Fredericton." -Source: "Crouse Family History, Second Edition"

Often called "Edward" vice Edmund, can be found recorded both ways, in varying sources. Along with David William Handspiker (his nephew), was co-owner of the schooner "Rambler" (built in 1847 at Digby).
in 1881 Census, appears with wife, Margaret, and daughter or younger sister Mary E. Handspiker in Digby. Age listed as 61 (Edmund) 64 (Margaret) and 44 (Mary). Of course, the above could be for Edwin Bartlett Handspiker, as these two seem to cross TOO many ways/times.

Much of the Hopkins info is based on some info on the Wing Family Website, at: http://www.wingfamilyhistory.com/
FYI the Franklin Hopkins b. @1859 is more likely son of George Hopkins and wife ?. The 1881 Canada Census shows him in Port Medway, Queens, NS, like grandmother listed is Margaret (Hopkins).

[587] Born Edward Frank, he often went by "Frank" as a preferred name. It is often seen as such in some sources.
