HILL, Hazel Elizabeth - 79, Port Maitland, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Weymouth, died Feb. 23, 2002, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Hilltown, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Carrie (Morrison) Brittain. She was a homemaker all her life. She was a member of Port Maitland Wesleyan Church, a past member of Havelock Wesleyan Church, an avid sewer and quilter. Surviving are daughters, Hilda (Gordon) Barr, Weaver Settlement, Digby Co.; Geraldine Rice (Ivan Gavel), Southville, Digby Co.; Lorraine (Ernest) Pothier, Milton Highlands, Yarmouth Co.; sons, Ervin Jr. (Aileen), Saulnierville, Digby Co.; Pearley, Digby; Arthur (Virginia), Hallett (Mary), both of Rockville, Yarmouth Co.; brothers, Pearley, Hassetts, Digby Co.; Leonard, Bowmanville, Ont.;
sisters, Mildred Brittain, Alberta Handspiker, both of Digby; Beverly Melanson, Lillian Gavel, both of Plympton; Ethel Amero, New Edinburgh, Digby Co.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ervin Sr.; sisters, Bertha, Annie, Nellie, Stella, Dollie and Dorothy; brother, Freeman in infancy. Funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26 in Havelock Wesleyan
Church, Rev. Karl Gorman, Rev. Tim O'Blenis and Rev. Daniel Hill officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, Havelock. Donations in memory may be made to any charity. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth.
