Interesting to note, a Hanford Ellsworth is buried (no dates) in the Cumberland Point Cemetery, in Queens County (on Grand Lake), along with his wife, Sarah. The online transcription states "One of the original settlers of Grand Lake." Is Sarah... Sally? Or, possibly a 2nd wife?
The 1861 Census for Waterborough Parish, Queens County, New Brunswick, Canada reads as follows:
Hanford - 66, Farmer, Sarah - 57, John - 37 h/w Elizabeth - 34, Mary -35, Catharine - 28, Donald - 24, George - 17, Hannah - 15, Benjamin - 13. It then lists two grandsons, likely sons of John and Elizabeth as: Elijah - 1, James Hanford - 10months (b. 1860).
