[136] Is THIS the Amelia Handspiker who was listed as born in 1872, died 12-Jun-1951 and was married to F. Keglen or Kegler. If so, the information about her dying as an infant is totally incorrect. Though her sister Charlotte, born nearly the same year, also is listed as dying young. There may be misinterpreted data, somewhere, creating this "puzzle." My OPINION is that the Amelia in this family is the same as the one who married Mr. Keglen (Kegler). However, I will keep the dates as I currently have them, in case I am wrong.

[1508] Albrecht Sobieska was the first of the family in America. Albrecht was a cousin of John III, King of Poland. However, since the crown was not inherited, he was not of "royal blood." Albrecht (Albert) was born at Zolkiew, Poland in 1638. Arrived in New York in 1662 on the ship "Fox" from Amsterdam. He shows up in Jersey City, Bergen County in 1676. On 17-Dec-1676 he married Machtelt (Matilda) Van Der Linden (age 20, b. Brussels ,Belgium), daughter of Yost Van Der Linden. Albert died 11-Sep-1711, Matilda died 1725.
