[767] In notes from Don Sloat, it appears John died in a car accident, when he came upon a moose on I-95, which had recently been hit, saw it at the last minute. He then swerved into the breakdown lane to avoid hitting the moose carcass, veered back into the travel lane and side-swiped an 18-wheeler, which then struck some cars parked in the breakdown lane, one which was occupied by a 37 year-old mother and her infant daughter, they too were killed.
