[160] Seen also as "Mabele"... which may have been a typo for Mabel E.? Birthdate listed came from descendant, but it has also been listed as 1885, and that record claimed she was the twin of James, who died at birth. She appears in the 1901 Canadian Census in Digby Town, as a domestic, working for Charlotte VanTassell and her son Frank. Shows her birthyear as 1883, and aged 17 at time of Census (page 14, reel T-6449). Solo picture taken in London, Ontario. Picture of the three women are Laura Jane (nee Handspiker) Vantassel, Mary (nee Milbury) Handspiker and Mabel.

Of Waterborough. "The family of Vincent and Mary settled, finally, on the Bellisle. There were ten children, all of whom were present at the sixtieth wedding anniversary of the parents in 1875. From this family some of the most successful business leaders of the province have sprung. The Whites of Whites Corners, Bellisle Point, and the firms at Saint John, Sussex and Apple River of that name are of this family." - Greenwood.
Original information on Vincent White is based on an article in "The Sun", a newspaper published in Saint John, NB, in 1893, but the name of the actual author of the article is not given.
Further ancestral info on Vincent provided by Norma McGuire's site:
http://www3.telus.net/norma/WhiteG/WhiteG1.html
Main problem is marriage date. Norma says the 13th, Queens, NB, Marriages says 29th, and "The Sun" article, the 31st.
