Nathaniel West was naturalized; BLACKSMITH. He Blacksmith of Rumford (formerly Pennycook) in 1762. According to Edwin West of Townsend, MA, Nathaniel moved to Concord in 1739, was Concord 'Hogreave' on 31-Mar-1742. Died of smallpox contracted from a visiting doctor. Previous references indicated he lost six family members to smallpox, but recent input from Susan Jones indicates that these others came down with the smallpox, but never died from it. They were put into quarantine, at the 'infectious house'. I had this previously listed as the 'Pest House' from other notes, which was later used as a school house!
