'This name, sometimes written 'Strang', is a sad corruption of the original form L'Estrange. Daniel L'Estrange was born in Paris in 1656, he married Charlotte, daughter of Francis Hubart, and had children Daniel, Henry, Gabriel, Penelope - wife of Samuel Purdy, Mary - wife of John Budd, and Lucy - wife of ? Davis.' He was born between 1656 and 1661 at Orleans, France. He died in 1705/6. He left a will on 11 February 1706.
