Moses Cox Also married later to Prudence (Marston) Swaine, 16-Jun-1658, Hampton, NH.
Have seen his year of birth listed as early as 1594, with same date of death.
Given date of marriage as 1640, find it rather hard to believe 1630 is a date of birth.
SUSPECT the 1630 date is a date of baptism, and possibly as an adult. Therefore, claims to his parents being Mosts Cox and Alice Perkins seem far-fetched. ANOTHER possibility is that Alice Wise and Alice Perkins were the same person? One a maiden name, the other a married? That would make a difference in YOB, as Alice Perkains listed as b. 1613, married to Moses Cox, b. 1594, which is surely a possibility at some levels.
AGAIN, another family that requires some serious digging and a far better accounting on dates and places, people and such.
In some records, Moses Cox, b. 1630, is listed as s/o Moses Cox b. 1594 and Alice Perkins b. 1613. BOTH Moses' married to both Alices are listed with identical dates of death (28-May-1687). If a man b. 1594 died 1687, aged... oh... 93, in THOSE days??? Well, I'd be MIGHTY surprised.
MY THEORY: Moses b. probably in 16 (teens), England, baptized as an adult in England or the Colonies in 1630, MAY have been son of another Moses Cox, but still am tentative on the Alice Perkins vs. Alice Wise possibilities, as 1613 and 1620 not all that far apart, and if he WAS born @1615 or so, either is a possible wife of the Moses who died 28-May-1687.
Both Alices died in 1657, though Alice Perkins listed dying in England!!! on 20-October, while Alice Wise, listed dying 20-AUG-1657, at Hampton River, Rockingham Co, NH. He was baptized circa 1630 at
Romsey, Hampshire, England. He was born on 18 July 1630 at
Hampton, England. He married
Alice Wise, daughter of
Humphrey Wise and
Susan Tidd, in 1639/40 at
Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA. Moses Cox died on 28 May 1687 at
Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA, at age 56.
