[1095] Death place of Saint John is only a suspected possibility. Although Samuel's early life is unremarkable, later records show he farmed about 600 acres at Exeter, Rhode Island, on which he had a hefty mortgage. He was also active in the Militia. In May, 1745, he was elected Lieutenant of the 3rd North Kingstown Company of Militia, and the following year, elected Captain. However, during the Revolutionary War, Samuel remained a Loyalist which would cost him his farm and ultimately, his country of birth.

Mrs Lillian WEIR , widow of the late Robert WEIR of Digby died Friday at the age of 89. She was born in Culloden, Digby County; the daughter of Chesley and Eliza [HANDSPIKER] SPARK. She is survived by two sons Arthur and Percy and a daughter Mrs Ralph THERIAULT all of Digby. The funeral was held from Grace United Church, Digby at 2 pm, Monday. Rev. R.H. HUGHES officiated and interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
The connection to Chesley "Spark" and Eliza was not possible, but, to Benjamin Chesley Stark and Mary Eliza Handspiker, it surely works. Eliza Handspiker was only 10 when Lillian was born. Whether or not "Chesley" changed his surname to be spelled Spark, or, it was a typo, is up for debate.
In the 1891 Census of Digby County, Lillian is listed as "Lillie Stark" and "stepdaughter" to Charles Alex Adams and his 2nd or 3rd wife, "Eliza". Could Mary Eliza Handspiker, have married Charles Adams, sometime before 1891?
