There MAY be some confusion between Michael's family and that of Robert and William's, as both seem to hve ties to Downpatrick, Down, Ireland. He was born on 1 February 1800 at County Down, Ireland. He was the son of Robert Creighton and Ann 'Nancy' Ennis. Michael Creighton was baptized on 26 January 1802 at Downpatric, County Down, Ireland. He married Jane Magee, daughter of William Magee and Martha Wicks, on 31 October 1831 at Old Stone Church, Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Michael Creighton died on 6 December 1884 at Waterford, New Brunswick, Canada, at age 84.

Likely it was a family thing, as well, which means we might find more on his father, William, with such a lead. He was born on 21 July 1830 at Staffordshire, England. John Edwin Colclough was baptized on 8 August 1830 at Bethesda Chapel Albion Street-Methodist New Connexshe, Shelton, Stafford, England.

A likely relation to this family, though I've no idea where he'd fit, is Truman Canfield, living in Pound Ridge, NY in 1860 Census. As he was aged 24, he's likely a brother or cousin to Daniel's children. He's also a shoemaker in the census. One son named 'Barnard' aged under 1 year... who I believe I've come across in earlier research. This is NOT the same Barnard who was born in Ireland in or around 1832. He was born on 19 November 1795 at New York, USA. He was the son of Cornelius Canfield and Rebecca (Dann) Dan. Daniel Canfield died on 13 May 1878 at age 82.
