[526] Sarah and John were married at the residence of her father, John Burpee, by Rev. J. Seller. She was of Douglas, York County, New Brunswick, Canada at that time. First date I saw was 4-Nov-1885, then in VSfNBNp Vol. 63, the marriage is said to have taken place on the 28th of October. Perhaps, it was just not recorded until the 4th??? The article indicated Rev. "Sellar" was assisted by Rev. C. W. Hamilton. In the original article, a listing of guests is included. (31-Oct-1885 - D.T. - Daily Times?) It may be of interest that the other paper listing the marriage was DATED the 4th of November, so that MAY be where that date came from? The "NBR"'s article appeared on the 4th of November 1885.

No doubt it was this Peter who appears on a Land Petitionn in Sunbury County, New Brunswick, Canada in 1810, along with Joseph Lamb, William Brown, George Hume, John Hume, Peter Hume, Enoch Lunt and William Taylor. Similary, it was likely this Peter who, on 30-Oct-1813 registered 300 acres of land in Sheffield, Sunbury County, New Brunswick, Canada (Grant #684 Volume F, Page 459) Similarly, sources quoting same grant, indicate that land as being at Maugerville, near Fredericton (where Phillip is known to have been found land, about 23 years earlier).
In one source, he was listed among "sons of loyalists" which indicates he was 2nd generation (or.. 1st Generation in Canada?). Peter has been listed in some sources as the son of John, not Philip, however there is no substantiated evidence as to why, yet several good sources to confirm he's the son of Philip.
According to the Ottawa Archives, Peter had six daughters and one son, all of Sheffield, recorded in the Sheffield Town record book.
Peter and Mary were both still living in 1847, when they jointly signed over property rights for the promise of "old age care" (a common practice in their neck of the woods, in that time period) to their son-in-law, William Jordan.
Peter was still living in 1851, with the Jordan family in Sunbury County, New Brunswick, Canada. Listed, however, as a widower. Same Census indicated a year of birth of 1774 and place as "NY".
Land:
Hanselpecker, Peter
Volume: F, page 459, Grant number 684
Original province of registration: New Brunswick
Nova Scotia registration date:
New Brunswick registration date: 1813/10/30
Accompanying plan: n
Acreage: 300 acres
Place and County: Sheffield, Sunbury County
Comments: 7 others
The Fulton Genealogy at the Prov. Archives of New Brunswick in Fredericton lists Peter Hanselpacker as Catherine's. Catherine being the wife of David Fulton. Though other sources seem sure she was the son of John, not Peter.
