William H. Storey 1910 US Census for Melrose, M'sex, MA:
at 63 Rowe Street: (NOTE: 53 Rowe Street listed as residence of 'Melton
Clifford Bonell Storey' for the WWI Draft Reg. so, this IS the right
guy... albeit a tad confusing! Also, mother listed as Eliza J., just
like in census, so 100 percent sure this is good connect)
STOREY:
William H., head, m, w, 57, M-31, MA, MA, MA, Letter Carrier - US Mail
Eliza J., wife, f, w, 54, M1-31, 2/2, MA, MA, none
Sherwood L., son, m, w, 27, S, MA, MA, salesman - hardware
Milton C., son, m, w, 25, S, MA, MA, salesman - drugs
1930, William and Eliza still living in Melrose, at 53 Rowe Street,
listed as William H. and Liza J., married 51 years prior (Abt. 1878/79?)
he lists father born NS, mother born Maine, this time., she lists all as
MA. He's working as a Janitor for some hall.
Likely the same William 'Story' listed in 1870 Census for Melrose, as a
farm hand on some Joseph guy's farm, listing birthplace there as Maine.
No matter how hard I try, can't find couple in 1880 Census. Would have
been 'newlyweds' by most accounts.
In 1885 City Directory, a William Storey listed on Greenwood, Melrose, a
laborer. Another Storey (Frank J.) listed as boarding at William Storey's on Greenwood, 'at Everett' (believe this is a crossroad).
IF William H. Storey b. Maine, the likely son of Robert (Rubert?) Story
b. @1825, millman, b. ??? (see 1860 Census) and Matilda (Story), b.
1850), Mary (@1857), and Adda
(@1858), al b. ME.
In 1908 Directory for Melrose, MA:
