Abraham Vantassel As Abraham (Senior) was in Digby by May of 1784, we must assume that Abraham (Junior) was born in Canada. Though, as the Muster Roll shows, Abraham arrived with a total of eight in his 'party.' So, with only 7 children (by most counts) and one wife, there must have been servants accompanying them, or, relatives, perhaps. Only four children, that we know of, had been born to Abraham (Senior) by the time he mustered in at Digby in 1784. That leaves two 'spots' open, for who might have accompanied him and his wife to Canada. He was born circa 1785 at
Digby area, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was the son of
Abraham Van Tassel and
Mrs. Van Tassel. Abraham Vantassel married
Anne Handlespiker, daughter of
Coenradt (Enoch) Handlespiker and
Anna _____, on 23 November 1807. Abraham Vantassel died in 1878.
