     Olive Fremstad She was born out of wedlock in Stockholm, given the name Anna Olivia Rundquist, and was then adopted by a Scandinavian-American couple named Fremstad. She was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where as a child she studied piano. It was in New York, at the Metropolitan, however, that Fremstad joined the ranks of the truly legendary singers of the so-called 'Golden Age.'
