Hiram B. FERRIS

ABOUT 1834 - BEF 1896

Family 1 : Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" HANSELPACKER
  1.  Almira May FARRIS
  2.  Ida Blanche FERRIS
  3.  Wiley FERRIS
  4.  Ada Alwilda FARRIS
  5.  Laura FERRIS
  6.  Ella FERRIS

INDEX

[545] So we THOUGHT this was solid. Hiram could not have been son of Archibald and either Phoebe or Hannah as they weren't married until after Hiram was born.. there must be another Archibald. Have one marrying Mary Cameron in 1831.. whose son is THAT Archibald? Makes a better fit for Hiram's parents.

from Queens County, New Brunswick, Canada. Witness to marriage: Archibald Ferris. Name is often back and forth between Ferris and Farris. The "e" spelling was on the marriage record, while the "a" version was on the birth records of children. Also, one sometimes sees Hiriam, vice Hiram.

Hiram and Mary appear in the 1871 Census for Waterborough Parish, with no children listed (which would be expected, having only been married a year or less).

Hiram B. is solid. It's Hiram D. Farris/Ferris that poses the likely problems. Not to mention the connection to Tirzah (etc) Hanselpacker. This line, however, is well in hand.

Also, a Hiram Farris joined the Mill Cove Baptist Church on 19-Feb-1871. It is most likely THIS Hiram who did so.

1881 Census:

Hiriam FERRIS M Male English 47 New Brunswick Farmer Baptist
Mary C. FERRIS M Female English 36 New Brunswick Baptist
Laura FERRIS Female English 8 New Brunswick Student Baptist
Almira FERRIS Female English 5 New Brunswick Baptist
Ida FERRIS Female English 4 New Brunswick Baptist
Ella FERRIS Female English 3 New Brunswick Baptist

(Is Mary C. Eliza Hanselpacker? Or, different/earlier wife?) (Is Mary C. Mary E. Hanselpacker (mother of Ida Blanche Ferris)

[617] Some records have Stephen as born in 1866, and no birthyear for Cassie. However, further research indicates he was born before her, and the 1864 date is pretty solid.
