Gerald Keith Handspiker HANDSPIKER, Gerald Keith - 97, Culloden, Digby Co., passed away June 12, 2005, at home. Born in Culloden, he was a son of the late Wallace and Lydia (WHITE) HANDSPIKER. Gerald was a member of Grace United Church, Digby; the Admiral Digby Museum, King Solomon Masonic Lodge, Digby; Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 20; a member of the Liberal Party of Canada, and served as municipal councilor for Culloden District for 16 years. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Wayne) HILLIER, Dartmouth; Pauline (Howard) CARPENTER, North Range; son, Gerald Jr. (Carol), Florida; sisters, Lorna VANTASSELL, Digby; Muriel FOGG, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Julie, Scott, Paulette, Allison, and Michelle; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Phoebe (MYLES); brothers, Herbert, Arnold, Arden, Eugene; sisters, Louise, Gwen, Villa. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Royal Canadian Legion tribute service 7 p.m. Friday, both in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday in Grace United Church, Digby, Rev. Earle LESLIE officiating. Interment in Culloden Baptist Church Cemetery. Following the committal service there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Royal Canadian Legion, Digby. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Admiral Digby Museum.
