St. Clair BEAN, Sr. farmer, sec. 19; P.O., Spring Arbor; was born Nov. 25, 1809, in Salisbury, N.H. and came to Michigan in 1846. Mr. BEAN's first wife, Rebecca WEST, was the mother of Henry F., born Sept. 23, 1833; he is an engineer and surveyor, now locating the northern extension of railroads in Northern Michigan. Other children were--Fanny (deceased), Clarissa and St. Clair, Jr., born Feb. 5, 1849, now of Spring Arbor. March 12, 1868, Mr. BEAN married his present wife, Maria DARLING, who was born at Lockport, (Niagara County) N.Y., Aug. 26, 1825. Her parents, Amasa and Hannah DARLING, came to Michigan in 1834, the mother living now with her daughter. Mrs. DARLING is in her 90th year, probably the oldest person in the town. Mr. BEAN owns one of the finest burr-oak farms in MIchigan, of several hundred acres, two miles west of the Spring Arbor College.

Wonder if the Sinkler Bean b. 1793, Salisbury, NH is uncle to this individual? If so, could be Nathaniel Bean was his father, b. 15-Aug-1791, Salisbury. Would have been pretty young, himself, though. however, Nathaniel and his wife, Abigail WERE married in 1809, AND she is said to have died in Concord, Jackson Co, MI 08-Jan-1853! I'm thinking this MUST be the parent couple for St. Clair, but if so, which child of those listed would HE have been? Nathaniel died 1829 in Genessee Co, NY, which fits with Bean family movement (Clarissa being born there @1840).
