Seems a mystery of sorts, as the one the Kimball Family claims Charles to be is Charles Brooks Kimball, b. 1809, s/o Jonathan (1775) Kimball and Sarah (1778) Kimball of Hopkinton, NH. though then the age of Polly is nearly 10 years off, as she was b.      Amos Carpenter Son of Timothy Carpenter (b. 1686, Rehoboth) and Experience Chaffee (see several Carpenter Genealogies). Amos removed from Rehoboth, MA to Westminster, VT. He worked as both a millwright and a blacksmith. He was born on 12 February 1715 or 1716 at Rehoboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts, USA. He married Polly Gould between 1740 and 1750 at Massachusetts, USA. Amos Carpenter died on 13 September 1787.

Seen as Philura in 1870, so Viola a simple enumeration error. Frank, then, child of Roswell and Philura.
That said, in 1870, Roswell was listed as Roswell, Jr., so this provides even greater proof as to proper lineage. He was born circa 1804 at Northfield, Washington County, Vermont, USA. He was the son of Roswell (Rosewell\Russell) Carpenter and Louisa (Louise) Larkins. Roswell Carpenter , Jr. married Philura Kinsman, daughter of Isaac Kinsman and Matilda Knapp, in January 1835 at Vermont, USA. Roswell Carpenter , Jr. died circa 1880.
