Thomas H. Piper Rather concerned on dating of Thomas. Given that Thomas C. was born same year, it makes for a great deal of confusion. Surely, Thomas H. was born abt. 1814 in New Hampshire. Unless both Thomas H. and Thomas C. were both born within a year of each other in Hopkinton, I am worried that Thomas H. is NOT as listed birth date/place. Though the dates of birth and death are different than those of Thomas C, as listed in LDS IGI, it's still so close that one must be extremely careful when analyzing further data (i.e. parents!).
Thomas C. Piper was b. 30-Nov-1814, also at Hopkinton, but died 08-May-1878, and was son of Nathaniel Piper and Mehitable Davis. Nathaniel married Mehitable in 1813, and died 06-May-1825, probably in or near Hopkinton. Nathaniel was born 18-Sep-1785, Clements Hill - Hopkinton? This is the Thomas C. who married Louisa B. Eaton at Hopkinton on 13-Feb-1842. They had a son, Thomas W. Piper, b. 01-Feb-1843, Hopkinton, who died in VA in 1864, probably while fighting in Civil War.
According to at least ONE source, Nathaniel was s/o Nathan Piper and Hannah Stockbridge, who had 15 children!! ONE child was Thomas, b. 15-Dec-1787, d. 17-Jun-1818 (most likely Thomas H's father). This family was originated in Rockingham County, though. Nathan b.04-Jun-1751, Stratham, NH, married Hannah Stockbridge on 3-Dec-1772. So, Thomas C. and Thomas H. were cousins, both being grandsons of Nathan Piper and Hannah Stockbridge.
One possibility, though also a longshot... A Thomas Jefferson Piper b. @1815, NH, son of Francis Piper and Abigail Wiggin . He did have an elder brother named George W, (same name as his son).
Likely related, given name and location, but how is good question, to the Thomas C. Piper, born same year, in November, who was son of Nathaniel (1785), s/o Nathaniel b. 04-Jun-1751, d. 25-Dec-1829 in Hopkinton, s/o Nathaniel Piper b. 22-Jan-1700/01, Wenham, Essex, MA, d. 26-Nov-1778, Stratham, Rockingham, NH, s/o Thomas Piper, b. 2-Nov-1666, Wenham, MA, m. Grace Hawley, 21-Nov-1692, Wenham, MA, s/o, Nathaniel Sr., b. 04-Apr-1627, Dartmouth or Northampton, Devonshire, England, d. 26-Sep-1676, Ipswich, Essex, MA. s/o Josiah Piper, b. @1597, Northampton, Devon, England, d. 1667, same. S/o Joph Piper, b. 06-Nov-1539, Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, England, and Joane ? m. 08-Feb-1560/61, CoE, Great Bedwyn.
S/o John Piper and UNK, s/o Magnus Piper of Holstein, Neustadt, Saxony (Germany/Denmark area).
From History of Andover, NH:
A Thomas Piper married an Elizabeth Brown b. 23-Sep-1783, m. 31-Jan-1809, had six children. Could they have been Thomas H.'s parents? Andover, NH, 30-Mar-1812, m. 24-Dec-1782, Sarah, d/o John Aiken Jr. and Sarah ?. she was born in Chester on 21-Feb-1763.
