Notes: 22-May-1875 date of probate of will, in Canning Parish. In the Lovell Directory of 1871, a David N. Hanselpacker is listed as a Farmer in the Douglas Harbor community of Canning Parish, Queens County, New Brunswick, Canada. Listed, possibly twic e in 1865-66 directory. As Farmer in both instances. Once in Scotchtown and once in Douglas Harbor, Grand Lake. Seen also as David Nevans, vice Nevens. He has also been listed as David H. Hanselpacker in some cases, such as the marriage notice for his daughter, Theresa. The following children in this family are found in the 1871 Census for Canning: John E. 24, Theresa A. 21, Charles L. 19, Legget S. 18, Allison L. 16, Louisa 15, Eunice 13, Ada 11, Edith 8, Annie 6, Marion 4, and Odbur 2. Most were likely born in the Canning area of New Brunswick, Canada. 1861 Census for Canning Parish, Queens Co, NB: 132 David N Hansel 45 Nat Baptist Mary A 33 Epis John E 15 Thressa 12 Charles 10 Leggite (son) 9 Louisa 6 Alison 6 Eunice A 3 Ada 1 The Nevens in the name comes from his mother's mother. When David and Mary married, both were "of Canning" (Parish) in Queens County, New Brunswick. Witnesses were Samuel S. Wood and David Cypher. Marriage MAY have actually taken place on the 30th, as have valid records for both dates. It was liste d in the New Brunswick Courier on 9-Aug-1845 as taking place on the 29th. Almost missed this family in the 1861 Census for Cambridge, as they and some other Hanselpacker families were listed as "Hansel" only. Not sure why, as all other Census records cover them as Hanselpackers.
