Notes: AKA Rev. Alfred Dickie. SOME list Alfred as son of Adam Dickie and Eliza Whidden. IF so, he likely married three times, to the following ladies: Lillias McLeod Hattie Madill Susan Annand but, not necessarily in that order. Problem is, he's listed as dying in 1893, when he was still quite alive for 1901 Census. Should this have been 1903? Should it have been listed for Lillie/etc as HER year of death, as Alfred was quite obviousl y "single" in 1901? Have not seen any direct connection to ancestors, other than Adam, but BELIEVE he may be descended of the James Dickie, b. @1755, Ireland, married Martha Martin @1790 (probably in NS) and died 25-Dec-1858, likely also in NS. Was in and around are as of Cornwallis and Truro. For certain, related to the Dickie's of Meagher's Grant in Lower Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia. 1881 Canada Census for Shubenacadie, Hants County, Nova Scotia: Alfred DICKIE M Male Scottish 38 Nova Scotia Minister C. Presbyterian Lillia J DICKIE M Female Scottish 38 Nova Scotia C. Presbyterian Gorden DICKIE Male Scottish 5 Nova Scotia C. Presbyterian There was another Alfred, b. 28-Mar-1860, who married Alice Dickie (b. 08-Apr-1859), obviously NOT the same person!
Notes: If born in Scotland, rather than NS, there's a listing for a christening for Lillias MacLeod on 16-Jun-1844, to William MacLeod and Harriet Dempster at the Free Church, Rosemarkie & Fortrose, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland.
