Notes: FINALLY! THIS is the John of St John. Daughter, Julia/Jane died of consumption in St John on 16-Apr-1867, aged 30, she was the eldest daughter of John. The family resided at the corner of Waterloo and White Streets in 1867!!! May be related to David H. Hanselpacker, based on location (St John) in the right era. Could even be his father. See also Thomas Hanselpacker. If can, need to locate possible information on children of this couple (John & Eleanor). If Davi d or Thomas appear, much less a mystery. A John Hanselpacker appears twice (or there were two) in St John in the 1865-66 Hutchinson Directory. First one listed on Waterloo & Castle, a carpenter, second on White, a laborer. The same family MAY be the one in St John, and may therefore also be the family of James Harvey Hanselpacker, and possibly Charles, the two who fought in the US Civil War..... Time will tell. John died of heart disease, only a few years after his daughters had died of consumption. His residence, at time of death was listed as 115 Britain Street in St John, NB. SO, he must have moved from Waterloo, in the few years prior to his death.

Notes: Online Curry Genealogy (www.my-ged.com/db/page/curry/) shows b.d. as "Abt 1818". She was from Wickham at time of marriage to John. In "Vital Statistics From New Brunswick Newspapers" Vol. 62, Eleanor's date of death is indicated to be 20-Mar-1885, age 71 years. If such is the case, her date of birth would be closer to 1813-1814. 1871 McAlpine's Directory for St John area: Hanselpecker, David, Joiner, h. 115 Britain Hanselpecker, Isaac, shoemaker, h. 115 Britain Hanselpecker, E. (or K.), wid John, h. 115 Britain Hanselpecker, Nevin, joiner, bds 115 Britain If the E or K is E, and this is Eleanor Ann MacDonald, who married John Hanselpacker, (1808-1870), then we may look at adding sons? brothers? David, Isaac, and Nevin, to the daughters, Julia and Sarah. I do show John as dying in 1870 in St John , so this would make perfect sense! He is also listed as possibly related to David H. Hanselpacker, Thomas Hanselpacker, Maybe even Charles and Harvey, of Civil War "fame". Obviously, Eleanor moved south after John died, likely with her son, Isaac, who married in Lynn, MA in 1880. In my notes, this is SURELY the same family, as it lists his residence at time of his death as 115 Britain Street, St John!!! The question is, are those members of the family who resided at Waterloo & Castle, directly related to John and family? IF so, we've FINALLY managed to connect this "crew" to the descendants of John Hanselpacker and Julia Balmain! I DO have a Nevin, but listed as son of Isaac and Flora Garland.. Hmmm.. Isaac and Flora also had an Eleanor! Oddly, this Isaac was born 1860, and seriously doubt he'd have been listed as a shoemaker at age 11!!!! But... very likely related to the same family group!
