Born in Weymouth, he was a son of the late Clifford and Gladys (Saulnier) Doucette. He was a retired lumber mill worker and a truck driver. In reti rement, he and his twin brother, Click enjoyed mackerel fishing. He enjoyed smelt fishing, but his greatest joy was giving his catch away. He is survived by daughter, Donna (Robert Delegarde), Weymouth; stepdaughters, Helen (John Speight), Frederi cton; Joyce (Roger Ferguson), Vancouver; stepson, Nelson (Holly Nickerson), Oshawa; granddaughters, Jennifer (Jody Benedict), Doucetteville; Kristina at home; great-granddaughters, Amber, Kaitlyn; great-grandson, Riley; step-grandchildren, Sandra , Brian, Heather, Kevin, Troy, Tanya, Edward, Tina, Crystal, Brandon, Allen and Nelson Jr.; 12 step great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy McCormick, Weymouth; Ruth Melanson, Plympton; Mary Bouchier, Kentville; brothers, Reginald, Weymouth; twin br other, Clifford "Click", Gilberts Cove. He was predeceased by his common-law wife, Melvina Nickerson; sisters, Frances, Ethel, Blanche and Beatrice; brothers, Leamen and Ralph. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Thursday in Jayne's Funeral Home , Weymouth North. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Weymouth. Burial will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Doucetteville. Donations in memory to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or Cr ohn's & Colitis Foundation of Canada, Maritime Region.
