Notes: 1880 census shows her as 65, though 45 would make sense, it's NOT a "4"!!! Margaret filed Civil War Pension claim as widow, on 23-Oct-1890. Indicating William had been a member of Company H of the Massachusetts 2nd Cavalry Regiment. He worked in the unit as a blacksmith, enlisting as a private on 31-Mar-1864, at the ag e of 30 (according to records). He mustered out of same unit, 20-Jul-1865, in Fairfax Court House, VA. His residence upon entering service was listed as Dorchester, MA.
