Notes: The death of Ashley Raymond Gorman of Burtt's Corner, husband of the late Neno (Bubar) Gorman, occurred on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Burtt's Corner on October 22, 1912, he was the son of th e late Horace and Letitia (Brewer) Gorman.

Ashley worked at many things throughout his life, including selling Selkirk chimneys, operating a store in Nashwaaksis, and Ashley retired as a salesman for Barbour Wholesalers. He was the conductor of the Burtt's Corner Band for 46 years, and tau ght music to countless youngsters in the Burtt's Corner area. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Lighthouse school in Burtt's Corner as part of his involvement with the Association for Community Living, and was also on the Boar d of Directors of the Keswick Valley Senior's Complex. Ashley liked to read and watch ball games and skating on television, and at one time had his pilot's license.

Ashley is survived by a brother, Elwood Gorman (Mavis) of Burtt's Corner; a sister, Pauline Bubar (Norris) of Burtt's Corner; sisters-in-law Verda MacDonald of Fredericton and Fanny Bubar of Stanley; nieces and nephews Wayne Gorman (Peggy) of Hanw ell, Carl Gorman (Alma) of Guelph, ON, James Bubar (Marilyn) of Burtt's Corner, Joan Horsman (Howard) of Moncton, Paul MacDonald (June) of Hanwell, Terry MacDonald of Fredericton, Fred Bubar of Stanley, Karen MacFarlane (Lloyd) of Truro, NS, an d Eric Bubar of Stanley; his homemaker for more than 23 years, Janet Brewer; and special caregivers Hugh Crouse, Douglas Larlee, and Zella Haines.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Sunday from 2-5 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dr . Amos Adeniyi will officiate, assisted by Rev. Dave Wellwood. The pallbearers will be James Bubar, Chris Bubar, Andy Bubar, Wayne Gorman, Kevin Gorman, and Fred Brewer. Interment will take place at a later date in the Burtt's Corner Community Cem etery.
