  • Name: Anthony James Marshall
  • Birth: NOV-1738 in: Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA
  • Death: 01-APR-1829 in: Marshalltown, Digby County, Nova Scotia, Canada
  • Father: William Marshall
  • Mother: Elizabeth Nason

Notes: In published Marshall lines, the children of Anthony James Marshall and Rachel Morse are listed as:

Joseph MARSHALL b: Mar 3 1763 in Walpole, Cheshire, Massachusetts
Abigail MARSHALL b: Jun 11 1765 in Marshalltown, Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada
Richard MARSHALL b: Jan 30 1768 in Marshalltown, Nova Scotia, Canada
Isaac MARSHALL b: Mar 15 1770 in Walpole, Cheshire, Massachusetts
Rachel MARSHALL b: 1771 in Marshalltown, Nova Scotia, Canada
Mary Polly MARSHALL b: 1773
William MARSHALL b: 1776 in South Range, Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada
Solomon MARSHALL b: 1779 in Wilmot, Annapolis, Nova Scotia, Canada

Would suspect, at LEAST the first 4-5 were born in Massachusetts. I seriously doubt if Isaac was born in Walpole, that Abigail and Richard were born in Nova Scotia!!! IF Anthony was a Loyalist, and fought in the Revolution, suspect probably AL L children were actually born in Massachusetts, and NOT in Nova Scotia. If, on the other hand, he was a "planter", perhaps all children were born in NS???

  • Name: Rachel Morse
  • Birth: 21-AUG-1739 in: Walpole, Cheshire County, Massachusetts, USA
  • Death: 12-MAY-1825 in: Digby County, Nova Scotia, Canada
  • Father: Josiah Morse
  • Mother: Mary Robbins

Notes: Interestingly enough, her listing in Digby Death records indicate she was only 70 when she died in 1825, and listed as wife of Anthony. That WOULD put her born closer to 1755, than 1739. It would also make it near impossible she was the mothe r of at least some of his children. 16 years difference can be a whole generation!. Unless, of course, Anthony James was a Sr. and had a Jr. who married a Rachel, too!
