Worcester Volunteer for MCAA, middle school and high school band Diane L. Worcester, 56, of Ridgefield Drive, Milford, died Dec. 4, 2003, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua. Mrs. Worcester was born July 9, 1947, in Groton, Mass., daughter of Sharlee (Williams) Porter of Tyngsborough, Mass., and the late Kenneth H. Porter. She was a resident of Milford for the past 31 years. She was the wife of Dana J. Worcester of Milford, to whom she was married for 31 years. Mrs. Worcester worked as a general manager at a local water company and formerly worked for New England Telephone and Joan Lemire Real Estate in Wilton. She volunteered at the Knights of Columbus for bingo and was active in the cribbage league. She also volunteered for the MCAA, Milford, the STOPP Program at the Milford Middle School and chaperoned many trips with the Milford High School Band. Mrs. Worcester was past treasurer of the VFW Auxiliary Post 10333, Tyngsborough. and past secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary 247, Tyngsborough. She was a member of Harley Sanford Post 4368 VFW Auxiliary, Milford. She was a member of the Tyngsborough Evangelical Congregational Church and in her youth sang in the church choir. In addition, she served as past superintendent of the Sunday School. Mrs. Worcester attended Lowell State Teachers College. Besides her husband and mother, survivors include a son, Jason J. Worcester of Peterborough; a daughter, Sarah C. Worcester of Milford; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Robert Nicolosi of Tyngsborough; a brother, Casey Porter of Tyngsborough ; a special cousin, Linda Murray of Tyngsborough; an aunt and uncle, Electra and James Williams of Groton, Mass.; two nephews; a niece; and many cousins. Funeral services were Dec. 9 in the Tyngsborough Evangelical Congregational Church. Burial was in Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal St., Manchester, NH 03101. The Smith & Heald Funeral Home in Milford was in charge of arrangements.
