Notes: Little is known of Philip. Some sources indicate he died early in the American Revolution, as a loyal follower of the Crown. It is said his comrades avenged his death by hanging the man who slayed Philip, erecting a board nearby stating: "Up goe s Huddy for White". A side note from related source indicates that Philip and William joined the King's Army in 1775, the Philip was captured by Henry Huddy's rebels on 30-Mar-1782. During an escape attempt, he was beaten and hacked to death. La ter, Huddy was captured by Loyalists and hanged on a tree, as described before. Philip was in command of the schooner "Hero's Revenge" during the War. His commission was as "Prize Master" of the schooner "Wasp" stationed in and around New York.
