GRATTO, Robert Sr. - 76, Lyman Street, Truro, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 14, 2004. Born in Truro on June 15, 1927, he was the son of the late George and Lucy (Gerrior) Gratto. Bob was a retired foreman with Dineen Constructio n Co. and had a passion for woodworking. He was also an avid dart player for years. He served overseas with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and the Blackwatch Battalions. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 26, Truro, fo r 48 years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene (Christie) Gratto; daughters, Donna (Roy) Newell, Truro; Darlene (Jim) Rooney, Saint John, N.B.; Kim (Neil) Harris, Kelly Gratto (Danny McCarthy), both of Truro; sons, Robert (Carla), Kri s (Sharon), both of Truro; grandchildren, Craig, Cory, Robert, Chelsey, Michael, Joanna, Lindsay, Christie, Traci, Adam, Ashley, Kyle, Aaron, Mitchell; great-grandsons, Zachery and Justin; sisters, Lillian French, Jean Hanspiker, Ontario; Glori a (Gary) Hazard, Elaine Mabey, both of Bible Hill; brothers, John, Charles, Carl, Don, Thomas, all of Ontario; Fred and Donald, Truro; sister-in-law, Dorothy DeBortli, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by brothers, Wallace, George, David; sister , Frances White. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 26, Truro, will conduct a tribute service this evening at 7 p.m., funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, all in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, Re v. Lori Ramsey officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial at a later date in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only.
