Notes: 1900 US Census for Lake Township, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois: SPROUL: Olive M., head w, f, Mar-1853, 47, M-18, 5/5, Can, Can, Can, arr: 1890/10, dress maker Maud, dau, w, f, Jul-1882, 19, S, Can, Can, Can, arr: 1890/10, telephone operator Amos, son, w, m, Jun-1883, 16, S, Can, Can, Can, arr: 1890/10, office boy Olive lists herself as married, not widowed, but can't find George in Canada or US census records (1901/1900). I'm also confused over the "M-18", as that, in 1900, is supposed to reflect how MANY years the individual has been married. Usually, they "pair off" and match up, no matter what the ages. So, how could that possibly fit? The only explanatio n I can think of is that it SHOULD have read "M-28", putting marriage around 1872, which WOULD fit. NO idea where Guy and Luella came from. Suspect, perhaps, they died young, so were never enumerated?
