He was employed with Marine Atlantic for many years. He wa s a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Digby, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 20, Digby. Surviving are his wife, the former Annie Hersey; brothers, Jimmy, Melvin and Richard , all of Ontario; Douglas, British Columbia; sisters, Edna (Roger) Spidel, Jean Germaine, Patsy Hennesy, all of Digby; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert, William and Donald; sister, Kathleen Deveau. Visitation 7- 9 p.m. Monday, December 15, in Jaynes' Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby, with Legion tribute service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Digby, Father Keith Billard will offi ciate with burial in the parish cemetery.
