My own, personal opinion, is that there was a Jeremiah born in 1717, who was likely son of Jeremiah b. 1684 in Roxbury, and one born later, who was baptised around 1730, born to the Jeremiah b. 1703. Only a theory, but one worth entertaining.
Was he TRULY 98 years of age at time of death? If so, then the first b.d. (1717) should "hold fast". Whereas, if he was closer to 85, the second b.d. (1730ish) is correct. Also, which Jeremiah (1717 or 1730ish?) marry in 1746? If 1730 dat e is closer to 1729, age 17 at marriage is surely not unheard of, whereas if he were 29, possibly a bit old for marrying???
