Notes: Had a brother named John. They bought the Ross house property in 1839, from Thomas and Sarah Small (Culloden, NS). Ross house was built in 1840. The community, then, was called "New Scotland" (Nova Scotia). They purchased the 100 acres for 100 pou nds. It is believed that John's home was built on the east half of lot 6D and that Olivers on the western half. The two brothers are BELIEVED to be the sons of Crawford Ross. Not much is known of the two. They both died in 1885. In 1871 Oliver Ross (60); Mary Ann (44), were living with children Catharine, Mary Ann, John, Isabelle, William H., Alexander, and Adelaide. John (55) and Rosann (62) were living here with them. Here's how it looks on Digby GenWeb site: ROSS, Oliver D1 60m - - farmer; b. Ireland Mary Ann 44m - - b.
