SKILLIN (Handspiker), Cora Mae - 84, passed away peacefully in Tideview Terrace, Digby on September 24, 2002, after a couageous battle with cancer. Born in Digby, she was a daughter of the late Watson and Lillian (Hazelton) Handspiker. Cora face d her illness with the same grace and determination she displayed throughout her life. When faced with her own mortality, she simply
refused to stop living. Cora found strength to enjoy her home at Tideview Terrace with old and new friendships, staff and weekly outings. She respected and was thoughtful to all persons who helped her personally and professionally throughout he r life. She enjoyed her employment at Cornwallis Naval Base and the Digby General Hospital. Right to the end, Cora was a fighter and admired by
all for her strength. Cora leaves to celebrate her life, daughter, Bonnie Saretsky; grandsons, Sean (Tanis), Rick Jr. and Paul, all of Thunder Bay, Ont.; sisters, Marion Moorehouse (Comeau), Monie VanTassel; brother, Buddy (Doris) Barr; sister-in- law, Flossie Handspiker; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by common-law husband, Reg Gehue; husband, Ski Skillin;
stepdaughter, Shirley. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Digby, Pastor Muriel Frankland officiating. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Tideview Terrace or Digby General Hospita l.
