Notes: Had two children with wife Eva. Was killed in an automobile accident on Halloween, 1938. According to the newspaper, he was a popular gas station manager.
Notes: Had two children with husband Joshua. Is also seen in some records as Eva (Fleet) or (Chosen) Handspiker (CV1). CV1 also indicates she was adopted, and uses the (Fleet) in-between given and surname. However, based on marriage information, thoug h biologically a Kehoe, Eva preferred using Fleet or her adopted name, Handspiker as her surname, until she married. Since she was adopted by Walter Douglas Handspiker and his wife Emma (Eva's aunt), she legally used Handspiker, most of her singl e life. Date from Digby Courier for marriage announcement is 1-Oct-1926. Nearly two full weeks after Eva and Joshua were married. Aug-2002: Confirmation from one of Eva's great-grandchildren that she was indeed adopted. Wayne Campbell of Prince George, BC stated his mother had information "For example, apparently Eva was not technically a Handspiker as she was "adopted" whe n her real mother died." Much of his information has been used to clarify the relationship. I am leaving her in the Kehoe family, but using the Handspiker surname, so as to show the connections most accurately. It seems, when Frank Kehoe too k off after Susan died, Eva was only a year old, and was then adopted by Walter Douglas Handspiker and her aunt Emma (Woodworth). During her single life, she varied her surnames between Fleet, Kehoe and Handspiker (Where the "Chosen" comes in, ma y be more an adjective than name... meaning her "chosen" name?) May have been connected to the Fleet's of Guysborough County, NS.
