Notes: Adopted a "Josephine Louise," possibly a daughter of Sarah Baxter? Died of typhoid. 1901 Canada Census for Digby Town, Digby County, Nova Scotia: 40 259 Baxter Edward M Head M Sep 15 1878 22 41 259 Baxter Annie F Wife S May 9 1878 22 42 259 Baxter Digby B M Son S Apr 18 1897 3 There seems to be a real problem with birth dates for Digby town census records on the Baxter family. Need to figure out why this is so consistently wrong? Most birth dates listed are later than those found in other records. Could the Baxter s have been giving their baptismal, rather than birth dates?
Notes: Exact birth date and parents as Annie May, are listed for "Stair" Handspiker, in LDS' IGI. Source cited: Registers of births, deaths and marriages, 1864-1918 Nova Scotia. Board of Statistics of Marriages, Births and Deaths. With copy of index of births and deaths, same date/parents listed for "Staik" not Stair and listed as MALE!! Makes me wonder if Annie May was possibly a fraternal twin to an Allistair??? Tough call. 1878 DOB from 1901 Census for Digby.
