Lizzie Adeline Kimball (F)
b. 1881 or 1882
Pop-up Pedigree

Lizzie Adeline Kimball Middle name taken from WWI Draft Reg for Arthur, as was his day/month of birth.

IS Lizzie the 'Female' daughter b. 09-Nov-1882? Doesn't quite jive with 1900 Census, though.

Have SERIOUS issues with the Lizzie/Arthur connection, because another couple, same ages, resided in Swanzey, NH, in both 1900 and 1910, causing serious doubt as to who was whom.

In 1900 Census, we find Arthur Cole (in Swanzey) married to Lizzie for 4 years. We also find Lizzie KIMBALL in the home of her father, Horace, still single. This can't be the same Lizzie, unless she was double-enumerated! In 1900, already claims to have had 2 children, one living. In 1900, with Arthur Cole, she's listed as Elizabeth C. Cole, with her father born in Massachusetts. This is a different Lizzie, though born May-1881. She is listed as 'Carrie' in 1910, with Arthur 'R' Cole, b. 1874, she born 1881. Carrie was born a Hildreth, as her brother is listed in 1910 Census at Swanzey. Just not crazy about Lizzie to Carrie, unless that WAS the 'C' in Lizzie C in 1900. SO, be careful with this family group, especially in early 1900s, as it could easily be confused with the Coles of Swanzey. She was born in 1881 or 1882 at New Hampshire, USA. She was the daughter of Horace F. Kimball and Flora M. Horton.

In 1870 Census for Grantham, lists another Fisher next door, possibly a son, Samuel Fisher, age 34 (b. @1836, NH), married to Ann, b. @1843, Ireland.

1850 US Census for Enfield, NH shows his state of birth as New York.

Believe there may be errors in year of death. Seen as both 1903 and 1908, which is a simple penmanship/read error, but worth a mention. She was born on 4 September 1833 at New London, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, USA. She was the daughter of John Pike and Eunice Keith. Mary Hurd Pike married Comfort Claude Goings, son of Comfort (Gowing) Goings and Elizabeth (Hannah) (or Elizabeth Starbird?) Comfort (Gowing) Goings (M)
b. circa 1797
Pop-up Pedigree

Comfort (Gowing) Goings In 1860, he was listed in US Census for Washington, Sullivan County, New Hampshire, along with wife, Elizabeth, and ran a home to take care of the poor. In New London, New Hampshire is a place at least once referred to as 'Goings Corner' after this very family.

A Hannah Goings, daughter of Comfort, listed aged 22 in 1850 Census for Freedom, Waldo County, Maine (USA), but not sure if daughter of Elizabeth or Olivea, or, if a much younger sister, or cousin??

This could be same listed in 1860 Census for Washington, Sullivan Co, NH,
as 'overseer of the poor' he and Elisabeth, along with daughter, Almeda.
He was born @1798, MA, Elizabeth was b. @1805, Maine.

Claude changed from Comfort before the Civil War. He was listed as Claude

I gather Claude and Austin married sisters... Nancy and Mary Pike, daughters of John Pike and Eunice Keith.

In 1860, Austin was listed as a steamship captain. In the history of Sullivan and Cheshire Counties, New Hampshire, is found the following entry:

'On the 4th of July, 1859, Austin Goings, of New London, launched the first steamboat upon Sunapee Lake. It was a side-wheeler, the length of the keel being sixty-five feet. It could carry three hundred passengers. Its name was the 'Surprise'. but that point in the history of Sunapee had not arrived, when a steamboat would pay, and, the war of 1861 coming on, Captain Goings enlisted and his boat was dismantled.'

Only listing in 1900 for Charles is one in Manchester, b. Oct-1860, a widow in 1900, NH, NH, NH, carpenter. He's the same Charles Goings who appears in 1890-1900 directories for Manchester as a carpenter, no doubt. The one b. Oct-1860 is son of Giles!

In 1900, in addition to his own son, Charles E., Ora Crosby has an adopted daughter named Pearl E., b. 1887. COULD she have been daughter of Charles and Marcia Goings? Is this why Ora signed for her to continue her father's pension payments? After all, it doesn't appear his wife/widow, Marcia, was living in 1900, and may even have passed before 1890, as well???

In 1860, the Charles b. ME was living in N.L. at age 18, with his brothers
Claude (head), and Austin.

Does look like Charles may have been enumerated twice, as he's enumerated in Maine with his wife and children, then in Manchester, NH, with his brother, Austin, but w/o rest of family. He was born circa 1842 at Maine, USA. He was the son of Comfort (Gowing) Goings and Elizabeth (Hannah) (or Elizabeth Starbird?) York. Charles Goings married Marcia A.
